The much desired Nudibranch
Flabellina exoptata
Guardian: Ellen Ericson
I believe that Dr. Seuss started writing books after meeting this nudibranch:
This is the most beautiful creature you may ever see
It slides along eating jellyfish trees
the cells from the jellyfish grow in its skin
and its colour changes according to the food it takes in.
It can’t really see but smells everything
With two dancing noses that are long and thin
And it never gets puffed because it breathes through its skin.
To not be amazed, I believe is a sin,
For Flabellina exoptata is an amazing thing.
