Herbivores

Acanthuridae, Ephippidae and Siganidae. Batfish, surgeonfish and rabbitfish. Most are herbivores, although some batfish are carnivorous.Have various ways of escaping predators, juveniles will often hide in mangroves and shallow lagoons, the batfish also have juveniles that look and act like leaves. The surgeonfish have a sharp spine just in front of its tail and rabbitfish have a venomous spine behind its pelvic fins.
