White tipped reef shark

Triaenodon obesus

This shark feeds by chasing its prey into caves and crevices and then shoving its head in after it. Its dorsal fin is much further back so that it can go deeper into holes and it often rests during the day in its own home cave.

It gives birth to live young, feeding the embryos with something like a placenta .

It can live to an age of 25 years and is probably only preyed upon by other sharks (like Tiger sharks and oceanic silvertips).
