Epaulette shark

Hemiscyllium ocellatum

Guardian: Kerry Swanson
(Ocean Freedom)

This shark walks. It has adapted itself to shallow tidal pools and crevices where it will walk along the bottom. Sometimes it will walk out of the water and over land to get from one tidal pool to another.

Imagine if all animal life disappeared from land, then these sharks would inherit the earth and eventually evolve to become shark people. People like us but with shark abilities, they would never have to go to the dentist, they would have extremely flexible bones and would be excellent disco dancers and they would be able to sense electric pulses. They would be able to hear each others heartbeats, so that they could sense a lie or without speaking a word, know when someone fancies them.
