broadbarred goby

Gobiodon histrio
What’s cool about this fish is how it looks after its home.
This goby spends its whole life in the tiny spaces between the branches of a plate coral. The coral both feeds and protects him and in return the fish excretes a special mucous that repels butterflyfish (fish that would normally feed on the coral) and rubs it like aerogaurd over the coral.
